Historical Architectural Walking Tour of Granada. Duration 2 hours.
This tour looks at the period of 1524 to 1915 in Granada. Discussions of the colonial life style and development,
Nicaraguan wars, and the architectural periods and types of construction in the city throughout almost five hundred years of history are the core of the tour. Important sites are visited, along with a tour of a grand colonial home decorated as it was in 1890 when it was built. Two churches are visited, the Cathedral and La Merced.
Dr. Carr, haing taught Church History for over three decades, has an extensive background in the history of Europe and Latin America and a lifetime of reading and travel dealing with an emphasis on art and architecture.
